On 06/01/05 from 1430 to 1630, the Brookings County Sheriffs Dept. and the Brookings Police Dept. coordinated a joint seatbelt checkpoint.  There was a total of 310 vehicle that came through the check point, and 30 people were cited for seatbelt violation, 1 person was cited for no valid drivers license, 3 people were warned for no proof of insurance, and 2 people were warned for no registration.  The checkpoint was conducted at the intersection of Main Ave. S. and Hunters Ridge Rd. in Brookings.
