Title: Deputy Sheriff
Personal: Jon enjoys hunting and fishing. He is a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the LA Lakers. He enjoys watching them on television and has had the opportunity to watch the Cowboys play in person several times. Jon also enjoys his job, the aspect of teaching D.A.R.E., working in the area schools as a School Resource Officer and helping the citizens of Brookings County
Background: Graduated from Deubrook High School in May 1989. Graduated from Western Dakota Vocational school in Rapid City, SD with an associate of applied science in Law Enforcement Technology in May 1993. Jon was employed with the Parkston Police Department in May 1993. In May, 1994, he accepted a position with the Lennox Police Department. Jon then worked for the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department in 1996 and then accepted a position as Deputy Sheriff at the Brookings County Sheriff's Office in January 1997. Jon was promoted to Patrol Sergeant in October of 2004.
Special Duties: D.A.R.E. Officer. School Resource Officer. Jon is a member of Fraternal Order of Police.
